Proposed fee adjustment for alarm permits:

Increase from $10 to $20

Only the permit fee has a proposed change. The fines associated with false alarm activations, as authorized by San Diego Municipal Code 33.3712, remains unchanged.

Firefighters and Paramedics respond to thousands of false alarm calls every year. These unnecessary responses result in an enormous burden in resources and expense; which in turn reduces emergency unit availability to respond to real emergencies.
